Irresistible Bliss

Some things you should know about me:

I love drawing. Every time I work on some sort of art, my skills improve, which always surprises and amazes me. Right now I mainly do my drawing digitally with my wacom tablet. I am always looking for pretty things (usually people) to draw.

About 2 years ago I began a quest to a new healthy lifestyle. I eat better, I exercise a lot, I no longer smoke. Quitting smoking sabotaged the weight loss to a point, but this quest is not ending. It is ongoing. I now run, which I never ever could have said before. I also never really wanted to be able to say it before. My whole family is into karate. My daughter, a former MMA student is now taking taekwondo classes and loving it. Yoga is my real sport.

Health and fitness has had such a large impact on my life that I am now back in college. I am completing my associates degree in psychology before moving on towards a degree in kinesiology. After that I may pursue physical therapy. Every single class I have taken since returning to school has been an experience, whether I was rediscovering my love for poetry or learning the hard way that some teachers are not truly there to help me and it is ok to look for the ones that will. As each semester ends, I wait anxiously for the next to begin. It feels incredibly natural to have piles of homework to do now, and when I am without it I feel a little bit lost.

I am not actually from New York. I am also not a real fairy. I did grow up in Connecticut, only about an hour from NYC. I have lived in Oklahoma for the past 11 years. The name goodfairyofny (aka goodfairyofnewyork) came from a book by Martin Millar called “The Good Fairies of New York”. It is incredible, you should really read it sometime.

This site is mainly just a place for me to share my thoughts, opinions, art and photos with you.

I could not have made this happen without my husband, who gets all the credit for, well… pretty much the whole thing. I am probably one of his most annoying clients ever as he can’t go home and escape me.
