Road testing

Road testing

Today I ran for the first time in over 3 weeks. I decided today was the day because I’d collected two new things to test out. The Oiselle race day tank, and a new pair of Brooks Adrenaline’s.

Here’s my before run pic. I’m 19.2 lbs lighter than the last time I ran. My running clothes fit so well now that I actually felt cute this morning. My husband fixed my ponytail for me since my ridiculous hair was fighting me. heh. Oh, and that’s the cat’s tail down near my feet.

You’re not supposed to exercise much if at all on the hcg diet, so I planned to keep it light, especially since it’s been awhile. I went to a park with a mile and a half long track and planned to do one lap around it. At 1.22 miles, my back was hurting pretty badly, and I decided to call it a day. Other than the back pain? It was a really good run! I had NO foot or leg issues AT ALL in my new shoes. NONE! In my old shoes, I always felt pain in various areas. They were just not the right shoes for me. These are definitely the right shoes.

As for the race day tank? I not only think Oiselle is an amazing company for giving out a ton of these babies for giving an opinion, but this tank is amazing. It’s made of the thinnest, softest cotton.  Like that favorite old shirt that’s been washed over and over again, only it’s like that from day one. I could wear this tank everywhere. To run in, for yoga, for lounging/sleeping, or out around town. Once my weight goes down and my funds go up I expect I’ll be a regular customer. If all of their cotton shirts are like this? I could see me wanting to wear very little else. It seriously was a pleasure. Typical me on a run is to be really annoyed the whole time at how my sweat is making my shirt cling to me, worrying about whether or not my shirt is riding up, and so on. Today? I never even thought about it. The shirt was just there. I didn’t feel anything really. It’s so lightweight, and I felt no discomfort whatsoever. And I really hated that I sweat in it because it meant I couldn’t wear it for the rest of the day.

So here’s my after picture. In the car, yeah…

I look pretty happy, huh? I wonder if it’s just the fact that I’ve had not even a glimpse of a runner’s high in weeks. Or that I feel so much better about myself with how much weight I’ve lost. And maybe that my shoes didn’t hurt me, and my shirt made me smile. Either way, I’m back…

Disclaimer: No one paid me to say good stuff about Brooks and Oiselle. I did receive a free race day tank from Oiselle through a giveaway at MizFitOnline. Brooks gave me nothing. I just wanted to share my opinion on these two great new things I got since they rock and I’m so giddy about it.

It’s about time…

It’s about time…

Finally got me a new pair of running shoes. Back to Brooks adrenaline gts 10′s. Only this time they’re pink! R.I.P. Omni’s, I won’t miss you at all.
